I am ready for Spring. I am ready for warmer days, daffodils and cute baby bunnies. I made this very simple DIY Spring Bunny Frame to help reflect my mood. It's perfect to welcome Spring and then later for Easter, too! Here's the instructions so you can make your own...
FIRST, gather your supplies.
Frame (with small square opening)
Polka dot ribbon
Burlap ribbon (a leftover burlap square would do just as well)
A piece of light blue card stock
Buttons
Embroidery thread
Glue
SECOND, cut your ribbon and papers to make your "background".
I traced around the glass square to get my paper cut into the right opening.
I also cut a piece out of my burlap the same size. Luckily my ribbon was exactly the right height, so I only had to but the width. I cut it slightly larger than the square so that it would tuck into the frame nicely. I then layered them in this order: GLASS (on the bottom), then PAPER, then BURLAP and put everything back into the frame.
I then used a bunny template and traced a bunny onto my polka dot ribbon and cut it out. Glue in place. (Tip: If you have a problem with your ribbon fraying, you can apply an iron on backing first, and then trace and cut out. You can then iron your bunny in place, or glue it onto the burlap background.)
NEXT, thread a small amount of embroidery thread through your buttons and tie a small bow. Use glue to adhere the buttons directly onto the background.
FINALLY, enjoy your finished Spring Bunny Frame!
