Wooden Backdrop

I love my wooden backdrop! I have used it on my mantle for many years now. It is great for stringing seasonal banners and also for wreaths. I love that it layers well and accents any sesonal decor.
We made it using several wooden boards  screwed together pallet-style and then stained. We also had to play around until we found the right hardware, which adds subtle detail.

  3. This is a really nice background especially for photographs. I have a mirror over my mantel and foyer table and although I how they look they are almost impossible to use in photos.

  6. Great idea! I love that you added the hinges - gives it a more unique look. If I ever get a mantle (we're in the early stages of building a house and some days it feels like it's taking FOREVER) I'll have to remember this.

  7. Great, we have wood display piece very similar, will either paint or stain so can use it on our shutter shelf, aka our mantel. Your wood back board looks so pretty with fringy wreath and flowers. So much can use it for. Love the black metal hinges, gives it special personality.
    Have great weekend

    1. I use it on my mantle, given it's size and it's weight. However, if you anchored it properly it would look really nice on the wall in a display. You could also make a smaller version and/or use lighter wood if necessary. Thanks for stopping by!

    1. I wish you luck getting your husband motivated to make you one of your own. Perhaps a special dinner or dessert or footrub is in order to bribe him? ;) Good luck and thanks for sharing!
